2026 Advanced Plant and Food Crop Biotechnology Center Workshop
From January 20 to 21, 2026, the Advanced Plant and Food Crop Biotechnology Center held its “Annual Workshop Exchange Meeting” at Huisun Forest Station in Nantou County. This two-day, one-night event brought together principal investigators (PIs), co-principal investigators (co-PIs), and research team members from all subprojects to share research progress and outcomes, conduct an overall review of the annual plan, and discuss directions for future research implementation.
The Workshop focused on integrating the Center’s research priorities, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, and strengthening project monitoring and performance management mechanisms. During the meeting, each subproject PI presented research progress and achievements in accordance with the originally approved project plan. Each presentation was allotted 20 minutes for the talk followed by 10 minutes of discussion. Participating scholars engaged in in-depth exchanges on research methodologies, technical integration, and potential avenues for future collaboration.
Through face-to-face sharing and discussion, the Workshop enhanced mutual understanding and connectivity across different research fields, supported a comprehensive review of each team’s research focus, and helped establish preliminary consensus on subsequent research integration and collaborative models.
In addition, the Center has completed an initial plan for an upcoming international symposium. This Workshop also helped subproject teams gain a clear understanding of the symposium’s overall concept and planning direction. Follow-up meetings will be arranged with each subproject team to further discuss and confirm relevant details.
Looking ahead, the Center will continue to deepen cross-subproject collaboration and integrate on-campus research capacity through regular monitoring meetings as well as ad hoc exchange and discussion mechanisms, thereby further strengthening the forward-looking nature and international visibility of research in plant and food biotechnology.
