Talent Education
The objective of talent education mainly includes cultivating highly educated R&D talents (full-time master-level and doctoral-level researchers) and recruiting top international talents to participate in the implementation of this project.
Academic Research
Our research focuses on important flowers and crops in Taiwan, including orchids, rice, important fruits and vegetables. In the past two years, the international research cooperation has covered a wide range, including the United States, Europe, Australia, Southeast Asia, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). The research results have been submitted to internationally renowned journals.
Industry-University Cooperation
We strive to cooperate with both Taiwan and international technology companies, promote Industry-University Cooperation, ask for technology transfer opportunities, and industrialize our research. Students participating in the project are also encouraged to build innovative teams to participate in the Training Program on Innovation and Entrepreneurship of Biotechnology of MOE (Ministry of Education), Taiwan.
Social Contributions
We held a number of lectures regarding biotechnology science and industry. In addition, many members of us also participated in the TaiwanICDF international talent training program, whose trainees including agronomy related researchers and officials came from various countries. Moreover, in the past two years, we have been provided a number of technologies and achievements to support the government and the development of the orchid and rice industries, with fruitful results.
Environmental Contributions
This center has built high-end plant biotechnology platforms, such as "Green net house for genetically modified crops & Isolated experimental field", "International rice genome research center" and "National genetically improved crop seed vault", making NCHU the No. 1 in Asia and in a leading position in the world.
