[Miin-Huey Lee] CaNRT2.1 is required for nitrate uptake in chili pepper pathogen Colletotrichum acutatum

The yield and quality of chilis are threatened by anthracnose pathogen Colletotrichum acutatum. Forward genetics by ATMT identified a mutant that lost ability to uptake nitrate. Functional analysis with gene disruption demonstrated that CaNRT2.1 is required for nitrate transport but not involved in virulence (Kuo et al., 2021).
