[Shyi-Dong Yeh] Papaya biotechnology for virus resistance

This article summarizes the current status of virus-resistant transgenic papaya generated through genetic engineering strategies. At present, three virus-resistant papaya lines have been produced, including the single-resistance line with PRSV CP gene, the double-resistance lines with PRSV and PLDMV CP genes, and the supper-resistance line with HC-Pro gene from a PRSV supper strain, and all three lines provide complete resistance to the corresponding viruses.
